Since we launched the board this past Saturday, we've talked to a few people and received a lot of encouragements. It is clear to us that people we talked to like the idea but were not quite sure what the intended uses are.
Towards that end, our goal is to have this as a local information center, such that people can take a look in the morning and have some idea what's going on around us.
We posted the Tour of Gila schedule, because as many years as we've lived here, we always forgot this time of the year is TOG time and traffic delay is quite probable. If we have any time critical appointments, such as doctor's appointment, it would be good to be reminded before we get out the door.
Today is one of those really beautiful days and we thought may be Mimbres Farmers Market will be opening soon. Did a Google on Mimbres Farmers Market and the information was it will start the first week of May. We happened to stop at Valle Mimbres and talked to Frankie, Farmers Market here will not be opened until June. If we just relied on Google, the information would be totally wrong. It would be nice to have a more accurate local information source.
I am sured we are not the only one got stuck with the major paving effort on Hwy 35 the last few days. It would be nice if somebody had posted the information here.
The local nursery along Hwy 61 should be opened now, but we are really not sure...
For many years, Mimbres Cafe was the "gold standard" here in so far as their business hours were concerned. They are always opened 7 days a week but that changed a few months ago, we do not know what their hours and days are now, but it would be nice if that information is available here.
Then there's the old garage sale, this will be a good place to list directions, time, and whatever "high value" items: riding mower, tractor attachment,..that may be of special interest.
Furniture, clunkers or fine automobile..for sale..
